Robotics - Open Category

  • During the 2024 season, the students are working on a project to make a Safer World. (a model of some Technology and Artificial Intelligence Systems that are used in war , defense and cities)

1.Teams consist of a team coach or consultant and a minimum of 3 and a maximum of  4 students.

2.Teams can use many motors and sensors.

3.There is no restriction on controller, sensors, or motors. Teams can use and add any materials they want to build their models.

    4. They will create their posters, where they will transfer the team’s processes and explanations about their project.

5.Each team member can join a maximum of one team.

6.During the Olympiad, each team will present its project and ideas that it has worked on.

7 All team members have to take part in showing up with their projects and answering the judge’s questions.

8.Teams are awarded prizes based on the judges’ evaluations depending on specific points table.

Robotics Olympiad Rules

  • The Technology Olympiad team works together to design and build a robot and then program it to autonomously complete a series of missions to score points in a 2.5-minute robot game.

1.Each team consists of a team coach or consultant and a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 students between the grades of 5-12.

2.During the preparation period, students will construct and program their robots for the competition event.

3.After deciding on their mission strategy, the team launches their robot from the launch area, and it moves around the field attempting to complete the missions.

4.The robot is programmed to return to the launch area at any time, so the team can modify it before launching again to try other missions. If needed, the robot can be brought back to the launch area by hand, but the team will lose a precision token().

5.One or more tasks that can be completed for points. Try them in any order you like.

6. The size of the robot is allowed to be 30°30*30 cm at its maximum

7. In the Olympiad day They will compete with others in their pre-programmed robots.

8.The teams are going to have time at the beginning of the Olympiad day to test their robots on the Olympiad table.

9. Team members have to bring their laptop or tablet to use it in the Olympiad.

10.The team will have three robot game matches, but only their highest score will count.

11.Students will have a mat and task description to solve.

12. Robot Design: Teams present to the juries their OWN robots and the codes they developed within the existing solutions.

13.Controller: maximum of one in any one match. No more than one can be brought to the field.

14.Motors and Sensors: All kinds of motor and Sensors are allowed in any mix and any number

15.Software: Use any software that allows the robot to move autonomously (on its own), run only by programs that are loaded onto the controller or microSD card. Remote control is not allowed in the competition area. Turn Bluetooth off or disable all connections.

16.Mission Models: You cannot take mission models apart, even temporarily.
If you combine a model with anything (including the robot), the combination needs to be loose or simple enough that, if asked to, you could free the model in its perfect original condition immediately.

17.Precision Tokens: The three red disc models They are worth free points when the match starts but can be removed by the referee one at a time until they are gone.

18.Match: For 2.5 minutes, the robot launches, returns, and repeats, trying as many missions as possible.

19.End-Of-Match Scoring:

  • Precisely as the match ends, everything needs to freeze in place for examination.
  • Stop the robot, leave it as is, and then keep your hands off everything as the referee scores the field with you.

20.Students are awarded points based on the tasks completed in completing the game.

21.Sudden Task Before the lunch of the competition, the judge will announce a sudden task.

  • The sudden task gives teams bonus points.
  • The teams can choose to solve it or not.
  • If the team decides to solve it, they will have 15 minutes to edit their program or modify their robot.
